Read more View larger How It Works Tick Control Tubes work with nature, allying with an unlikely partner to kill ticks in your yard. Believe it or not, young ticks feed on mice. Mice seek out the soft, specially treated material inside tick tubes to line their nests. Young ticks feeding on the mice die from exposure to the material. Tick tube material is treated with permethrin, an active ingredient recommended by the CDC to kill ticks. Where & When To Use Place Tick Control Tubes in places where mice frequent such as flower beds, bushes, woodpiles, stone walls and sheds. Place the tubes every 10 yards to cover your property. It’s that simple. Do this twice a year, once in the spring and once at the end of summer. Tubes can be applied any time between April and September. For best results, apply in April to kill nymphal ticks and July to kill larval ticks. It is essential to apply Tick Control Tubes both times of the year because larval ticks turn into next year's dangerous nymphal ticks that carry diseases. Tick Control Tubes will start to decrease your tick population a week or two after you apply them to your yard. A mouse can pick up over 10 ticks a day or hundreds a season, so over time you will see a marked decrease of ticks in your yard. Best results occur after you have applied both the spring and summer applications. By killing both nymphal and larval ticks in Year 1, you prevent these young ticks from turning into adults and reproducing, resulting in a marked decrease in your tick population the next summer. Keep applying tick tubes to your yard each season to treat new mouse nests and kill any ticks in the yard. Read more
